Google2phpLD Import Crawler
Based on Google's SOAP Search API, Google2phpLD module makes finding new links (and new link partners) very easy and in almost no-time. It can help you populate the directory with links, more links mean more content and that's a good reason for visitors to start spending more time on your directory.
IMPORTANT
As of December 5, 2006, Google is no longer actively supporting the SOAP Search API. Old members who already have an API key still can use this module and Google's service. For the moment, I have stopped developing a new module based on Google's new API. Mainly because it is not that functional and flexible like the old one, and because there is a similar module already available for PHP Link Directory v3+ users. Maybe I will re-start developing this module at a later point, but for now I won't.
For all the people who paid for the module after December 5, 2006 and do not have a functional SOAP Search API key, I will refund the complete amount of $30 on request. For all the rest I won't pay back a cent, even if you have not downloaded your Google SOAP Search API key in time. Sorry, but I cannot be held liable for someone's idiocy!
How does it work?
You first have to download your Google SOAP Search API key. Using this key, you can do almost any kind of advanced search on Google, select maximum links to import, a category where to save the links to and then let the module do the rest.
Each found link is crawled by the internal spider for title, META description and META keywords. The new link entries are populated with the found content. If no META tags are found, or if their content is not valid, the module tries to populate the fields from their Open Directory Project listing, if available, or use Google's index information.
Server resources are kept to minimum, after 10 processed links, the module redirects itself to the next cycle. You have full control to stop the process at any time.
Your last work is to only accept needed links and remove the rest.
This module can be added to all versions of PHP Link Directory from 2.0 up to 3.1.0 and above. The same files know how to process data for a PHP Link Directory version 2+ installation, or for the latest version 3+. No need to download different files, or make different changes.
